is Leader Maker Training so different?...

That was what one eager yet very frustrated Banking
CEO asked me during a recent consultation.
“You are a banker, you understand banking,
I know people, and I know leadership in the workplace...you
take care of making your people into bankers,
I’ll take care of making them leaders –
I promise”
My name is Jackey Backman and I am a Leader Maker.
I have been working in a leadership capacity or
developing leaders for the past 15 years. I have
worked in Canada, United States, Europe and the
Middle East. The countries may change and everything
may look different but I assure you without a
doubt leaders around the world regardless of industry,
regardless of private or government sector have
the same problems and therefore require the same
skill set to perform at an optimal level. It’s
not Rocket Science but it may as well be.
If you are experiencing, low morale, low productivity,
bad attitudes, high absenteeism, mid to high turnover,
quality control...you have a leadership problem.
Not that they aren’t doing their best. It’s
more likely they just don’t know what to
do.
Sending them to workshops will only take them
so far. It’s great while they’re there,
but what happens when they get back to the office
and they’ve got to deal with all the people
that weren’t at the workshop? What happens
when “real life” steps in and their
true character and personal limitations surface?
